Bluewater Bridge in Sarnia-Lambton

Mission

The Bluewater Wind Ensemble is a group of local musicians and students working in a spirit of cooperation, collaboration, and camaraderie, who strive for excellence in musical performances for our community. The Bluewater Wind Ensemble believes that all community musicians should have the opportunity to perform at a level that is appropriate for them at various stages of their musical journeys, and the support and encouragement to move through the levels seamlessly as they are ready to.  The Bluewater Wind Ensemble is comprised of residents of many Lambton County communities and may also have guest performers from time to time.

History

The Bluewater Wind Ensemble was formed in the summer of 2021, in the middle of a world pandemic, nonetheless, to meet the needs of advanced-level musicians in the Sarnia-Lambton community to practice their craft through the exploration of new and exciting music. It is our utmost desire that there be an appropriate community music ensemble available for all community musicians to perform, and the formation of the Bluewater Wind Ensemble is a very important step towards that goal. Members of the ensemble showed great passion and determination by meeting outdoors under the shade of a large tree in a local park for the first few months, before being cleared to move rehearsals indoors. Then there was an additional delay over the holiday season before the ensemble was allowed to resume rehearsing indoors in early 2022. Not to be deterred, our successful inaugural concert was held in June, 2022 and we are excitedly looking forward to all of our future concerts! The Ensemble achieved incorporation with Not For Profit status on January 5, 2023.
